IN MEMORIAM

Winnie Kleintges

Winnie

[Feb 2021] With great sadness we had to announce at our recent AGM that one of our most senior members, Winnie Kleintges, had passed away after a long illness. She joined the club after visiting one of our early art exhibitions in the Village Hall and soon became a regular and very active member, contributing to many following exhibitions with her fine watercolours until poor health prohibited her leaving the house. Nevertheless, she stayed in touch, supported the club and remained a member, always hoping to return to painting. Those of us who knew her, miss her greatly and will remember her for a keen interest in the artistic work of the other members.
Here are two examples of her expressive and well-composed watercolours.

JOHN G LINDSAY

John Lindsay

[May 2019] Club members were much saddened by the passing of former club chairman, John G Lindsay, after a lengthy illness. When
his predecessor Mike Brooks had to retire at short notice, John willingly and capably stepped forward to shoulder the task. He was well liked in the club for his friendliness and calm demeanour, a steadying influence. A dedicated chairman, he was very active in club matters and a constant attendee at the weekly meetings. John showed considerable artistic ability and individuality, exhibiting his paintings regularly. All who knew him will miss him greatly. Here are two fine examples of his work (click for larger versions).

VIVIAN DURHAM

Vivian Durham

[2017] It is with great sadness we report that Vivian Durham, a long time member and supporter of the Milton of Campsie Art Club, passed away earlier this year after a brave fight with cancer. She was an artist of considerable talent who won many prizes and accolades for her work exhibited around East Dunbartonshire.  She will be much missed at the club for her cheerful nature and irrepressible sense of humour. Here are 2 of her most recent paintings - just click on them to see the bigger versions:
